Vendor: A registered seller who lists and manages products through the Basemart vendor dashboard.
Personal Data: Any data that can identify an individual including name, address, email, phone number, ID number, etc.
Wallet: A user account for holding electronic funds on the Basemart platform.
Escrow: A secure holding service for funds pending order fulfillment.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following data when you register, transact, or browse:

Full Name, Email Address, Phone Number
Location and Shipping Address
Government-issued ID for vendor verification
Transaction details: orders, wallet top-ups, refunds
Device, IP address, and browser information

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

Facilitate transactions including wallet and escrow services
Verify your identity (especially vendors)
Process deliveries and refunds
Improve services and prevent fraud
Market our products, services, and related third-party apps
Send promotional offers, newsletters, and platform updates

Note: Vendors are expressly prohibited from using buyer data for independent marketing, advertising, or unsolicited contact.

4. Vendor Obligations

All vendors are required to:

Protect buyer data from unauthorized access or use
Refrain from storing, reusing, or marketing to buyers using information obtained via the platform
Ensure timely order processing and update delivery statuses on their dashboard
Comply with Basemart’s escrow, refund, and verification policies

5. User Rights

You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data
Withdraw consent or request deletion of your account
Opt out of promotional messages via account settings

6. Retention & Security

We store your data securely using industry-standard encryption. Data is retained as long as your account remains active, and for no longer than legally necessary thereafter.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and analytics to understand your behavior and improve platform performance. You can control cookie permissions via your browser settings.

8. Account, Orders, Wallet, and Refunds

Wallet balances are updated in real-time and escrowed funds are released upon delivery confirmation.
Refunds are processed within 7 days for failed deliveries or valid disputes, subject to admin review.
Price updates, discounts, and promos are solely at the discretion of Basemart or verified vendors.

9. Admin Rights

The Basemart Admin reserves the right to override vendor settings, order flows, or wallet functions for:

Compliance with national regulations
Fraud prevention
Customer satisfaction guarantees
